Rebel Alliance badges (foam rubber)

For this year's Star Wars (The Last Jedi) premiere l decided to make Rebel Alliance badges again, but this time they're made of foam rubber, a new material I came across and wanted to explore its possibilities. I made about thirty pieces and gave them away on the premiere night in my town.

Ove godine sam opet odlučio nešto napraviti za pretpremijeru filma Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi, i zapravo se nisam puno maknuo od prošlogodišnje ideje - bedževa s logom Rebel Alliance. Međutim, dok su prošli put bili od polimerne gline, ovaj put sam upotrijebio već spomenuti materijal koji sam nedavno otkrio, pjenastu gumu! Kao što možete vidjeti na donjoj fotografiji, lijepio sam spomenute oblike od crvene pjenaste gume na okrugle drvene "žetone" (stvarno ne znam kako bih ih nazvao), koje sam prije toga prebojao crnim markerima, te na njih pištoljem na vruće lijepljenje zalijepio "ziherice". Žetoni su u promjeru 3 cm, tako da mi je bilo lakše izrezati logo škaricama za nokte. Možete zamisliti da je to bio prilično osjetljiv posao, ali kad sam jednom ušao u štos, išlo je puno brže. A što se tiče škarica, ne brinite, njih nisam koristio za nokte, već sam kupio nove samo za ovakve kreativne projekte. Ovakva jednostavnija tehnika mi je omogućila da ih napravim što više u kratkom razdoblju i ispunim si želju da ih podijelim gledateljima na pretpremijeri, te time i reklamiram svoju Instagram stranicu.

Osmislio sam i način na koji ću ih podijeliti - u KIK-u sam naišao na jeftinu plastičnu zdjelicu sa Star Wars motivima, te otisnuo reklamu koju vidite dolje i zalijepio je na nju.

Mogu reći da su bedževi brzo planuli, jer je kino bilo do kraja popunjeno, ali sam uspio uslikati zdjelicu baš u trenutku kad smo počeli ulaziti u dvoranu. Kao što vidite, očito su se mnogi stidjeli uzeti zadnji bedž, ali i on je na kraju nestao. :-)

Još jednu bitnu stvar nisam spomenuo, a to je da sam tom prilikom nosio kostim Jedi ratnika. Ali to je neka druga priča, koju možete provjeriti na mom Instagramu.

Također se još nisam pohvalio da sam odlučio malo oživjeti svoj YouTube kanal. Napravio sam si držač za mobitel (koji ću posebno predstaviti u jednom od sljedećih postova) i želio bih snimiti neke tutorijale o svojim projektima. Prvi koji sam snimio je bio upravo za ove bedževe i možete ga vidjeti dolje:

Znam da se to tako obično ne radi, ali ja sam uzbuđen što sam uopće i to uspio napraviti. Probat ću tako predstaviti i neke crteže, pogotovo nakon što sam nabavio neke nove materijale, ali idemo malo-pomalo.

O filmu ne bih ovom prilikom, jer se tek počeo prikazivati i ne bih htio nekom pokvariti doživljaj. Mogu samo reći da su mi utisci velikom većinom pozitivni, ali da postoje neki aspekti ili rješenja koji su ostali upitni. Možda mi se i to promijeni nakon idućeg gledanja, kao što se znalo dogoditi s nekim filmovima. Sve u svemu, isplati ga se pogledati i svakako ću ga preporučiti bilo kome tko me to pita.

Eto, zasad toliko, čitamo se idućim prilikom (i to vrlo uskoro)!

Pens and liners (Inktober 2017)

My "weapons" that helped me "fight" this year's Inktober challenge: STA Pigment Liners (0.1mm, 0.2mm and 0.3mm), Stabilo Write-4-all Marker Medium, Pentel N850 Bullet tip Permanent Marker and Uni-ball Signo Broad UM-153 White Gel Pen! Although I didn't use the white ink pen, I mentioned it anyway, because I got it specifically for this occasion and I'll certainly use it for my next projects.

Često me pitate koje sam olovke i flomastere koristio tijekom Inktober izazova, pa evo da vam napokon udovoljim: najviše sam koristio STA Pigment Liners (od 0.1mm, 0.2mm i 0.3mm), koje sam nabavio preko eBaya. Prve dvije sam najviše koristio, pa možete vidjeti da se natpis na njima i najviše izlizao, a posebno na prvoj. Ta od 0.1mm mi je najdraža i naručio sam još dva komada (evo, upravo danas stiglo!). Stabilo Write-4-all Marker Medium i Pentel N850 Bullet tip Permanent Marker sam kupio u Mülleru. Preko eBaya sam također kupio i Uni-ball Signo Broad UM-153 White Gel Pen, dakle olovku s bijelom tintom, koja mi je trebala poslužiti za "brisanje" crne, iako se zapravo ponaša poput korektora. Nju sam izabrao između svih za koje sam vidio recenzije na YouTubeu i čini mi se da sam dobro izabrao. Za razliku od prošlogodišnjeg Inktobera, nisam je morao upotrijebiti nijednom, ali njen efekt, kao i ostale spomenute olovke možete vidjeti i na ovoj slici.

A DIY Halloween gift

Here's my DIY present for this Halloween. Like last time, I found a tutorial for an interesting project and tried to create it adding some new elements like decoupage, and wooden tags (a pumpkin, a bat and a skull). It turned out even better than I expected it.

Kao i prošle godine, i ove sam odlučio napraviti prigodan poklon za Halloween,  za koji sam također pronašao turorial na YouTubeu. Dodao sam neke svoje elemente koje sam jos prije osmislio za jedan drugi projekt.

Duh

Prvi dio se odnosi na čašu u kojoj će biti vrećica s bombonima/čokoladicama, a poslije može poslužiti i za olovke. Radi se o opranoj i očišćenoj konzervi kakvu možete naći u skoro svakom kućanstvu. Prema tutorialu ju je trebalo obojiti bijelom bojom u spreju, ali ja sam se poslužio decoupage tehnikom, budući da sam je koristio i za drugi dio poklona. Razrezao sam papir u nekoliko traka i uz pomoć ljepila za decoupage zalijepio na konzervu. Čak sam prekrio i jedan dio unutrašnjosti, tj. samo gornji dio, prvenstveno zbog toga što su rubovi bili malo oštriji. Na kraju sam, kao i inače, ljepilom prekrio (lakirao) cijelu površinu koju zauzima papir.

Bundeva, šišmiš i kostur

Drugi dio poklona sam napravio na način koji sam nedavno koristio za izradu privjesaka, bedževa i ogrlica. Na eBayu sam naručio okrugle drvene privjeske i samoljepljive plastične oči. Upotrijebio sam kolaž i nešto što sam našao u Hobby Artu, a najbliže mogu opisati kao "gumeni filc" (ako to uopće ima smisla). Njega sam koristio za izradu šišmiševih krila i ušiju. Kolaz sam lijepio ljepilom za decoupage, a "filc" sa pištoljem na vruće lijepljenje. Sve to možete vidjeti na fotografiji dolje.

Rezultat

Kad se konzerva osušila, ukrasio sam je narančastom trakom s jesenskim motivima, zalijepio velike plastične oči, te usta od "gumenog filca" pištoljem na vruće lijepljenje. Na osušene privjeske zalijepio sam manje plastične oči, te provukao tanki konopac kojim sam zavezao vrećicu sa slatkišima.

Inktober 2017, Week 4

This year I'm using the official prompt list again (it was made by @jakeparker, who started this Inktober challenge a few years ago), but this time I'm interpreting it through the eyes of one of my newly created characters and accompanied by a short poem. This will also be a good practice for my new comic, starring the character you'll get to know pretty well this month. I'd like to believe I'm stepping up my game in relation to last year's challenge. As usual, I'm going to post here weekly (you can follow my daily posts on my IG account, FB page or dA account). These are my drawings from the first week (Day 23 - Day 31).

DAY 23: JUICY

"If someone wants to spill the tea,

Don't act so prude, just take a sip!

So what if that may not feel right?

We all love some juicy gossip."

DAY 24: BLIND

"Feeling proud of your achievements,
Treating everybody as prey,
Blind to all people you stepped on
Just to get to where you're today?"

DAY 25: SHIP

"A big ship, a beautiful cruise,

Such great fun, no flaw, no weakness,
There you can spend some precious time -
Except if you have sea sickness."

DAY 26: SQUEAK

"Hey, little mouse, don't be afraid,

And even pee myself, of course."

DAY 27: CLIMB

They have almost the same meaning -
They're just other words for dirty!"

DAY 10: GIGANTIC

"Sick and tired of feeling small?
Oh, what if you could have a pill
To make your ego gigantic,
Feel more important, feel the thrill?"

DAY 11: RUN

"You can run, run, run in circles,
Run up or run down, fall or climb,
Run like the wind, run a red light,
Just run, run, till you're out of time."

DAY 12: SHATTERED

Paper napkin flower

A pretty simple project to distract myself a little bit from the Inktober challenge. It's a birthday present, a paper napkin flower, which can also be a hair pin.
