After The Holidays

During holidays it's hard to stick to your usual diet plan, so have you started this year with a couple of pounds more? What's your plan now?

Of course, it's not a problem for Captain Marvel's "cat" Goose, a member of the Flerken race who can store any kind or amount of objects in pocket dimensions inside their bodies and still look fit, but we don't have that kind of choice. 

This idea for an illustration of Goose overeating during the holidays has been on my mind for a couple of weeks and I'm happy I finished it on exactly this day! January 6 in my country marks the official end of Christmas holidays, when most families take their Christmas tree down and put all the decorations away, so, starting tomorrow, life basically goes back to its usual pace.

Christmas cactus update

Update on my Christmas cactus... I don't believe I killed it, but the flower buds fell off before they had the chance to blossom, so I guess I've been doing something wrong. In the memory of the promising start I digitally coloured my ink drawing (click here) from the time when both the cactus and hope were alive.

Najnovije informacije o mom božićnom kaktusu... Ne vjerujem da sam ga ubio, ali pupoljci su otpali prije nego što su uspjeli procvjetati, pa pretpostavljam da negdje griješim. U sjećanje na obećavajući početak digitalno sam obojao svoj crtež nacrtan tintom (kliknite ovdje) iz vremena kad su i kaktus i nada još bili živi.

Christmas cactus

So, I bought this Christmas cactus today... I know Inktober is over, but somehow I felt the need to draw it using that style, just black and white with some interesting effects and solutions.

Kupio sam ovog jadnička danas. Božićni kaktus, piše. Osvojili su me već riječju "kaktus", naravno. Gurao se u vrećici zajedno s velikom Milkom s popusta, Linoladom (Duo, a što drugo?), božićnim lampicama (točnije, mrežom), Axe (isključivo Apollo!) dezodoransom, paprikama i posnim sirom, smrzavao se u autu dok sam točio benzin i u vožnji prevrtao u prtljažniku s lampionima i torbom. Koliko god sam ga, kao što možete pročitati iz spomenutoga, pokušavao zaštititi prilikom prijevoza, slomio se na nekoliko mjesta. Dok sam uzimao olovku kako bih započeo obećani crtež Marvelovog Doctora Strangea, pomislio sam na kaktusovu jadnu sudbinu i odlučio ga nacrtati onako kako sam ga ugledao na polici u trgovini. Piše da cvjeta cijelu zimu. S obzirom na to kako izgleda, nadam se da će izdržati barem do Božića.

P.S. Riječnikom Željka Pervana: Kako kaktus uopće zna da je Božić?! :-P
