Inktober 2017, Week 3

This year I'm using the official prompt list again (it was made by @jakeparker, who started this Inktober challenge a few years ago), but this time I'm interpreting it through the eyes of one of my newly created characters and accompanied by a short poem. This will also be a good practice for my new comic, starring the character you'll get to know pretty well this month. I'd like to believe I'm stepping up my game in relation to last year's challenge. As usual, I'm going to post here weekly (you can follow my daily posts on my IG account, FB page or dA account). These are my drawings from the third week (Day 16 - Day 22).

DAY 16: FAT

"As the years pass by, pound by pound,
You think there's no way to stop that,
Unless you admit to yourself
It's not years that made you so fat."

DAY 17: GRACEFUL

"Just look at them glide together,
Skillfully skating on cold ice,
Next to each other, hand in hand,
So beautiful, graceful and nice!"

DAY 18: FILTHY

"Filthy, unclean, impure, muddy -
Can you count them up to thirty?
They have almost the same meaning -
They're just other words for dirty!"

DAY 19: CLOUD

"Oh, to fly away from troubles
And leave all your problems behind!
Float away on a lonely cloud,
Even if it's just in your mind!"

DAY 20: DEEP

"Deep was the love that you once felt,
The kind that strikes only a few,
Now deep is only the abyss
She left behind when she left you."

DAY 21: FURIOUS

"Is there something that gets your goat?
Are there days that make you see red?
If mornings make you furious,
Soothe your anger, just stay in bed."

DAY 22: TRAIL

"Ever wonder what's your next step?
Your life's been dragging like a snail?
Even if you see no meaning,
At least make sure you leave a trail."

Inktober 2017, Week 2

This year I'm using the official prompt list again (it was made by @jakeparker, who started this Inktober challenge a few years ago), but this time I'm interpreting it through the eyes of one of my newly created characters and accompanied by a short poem. This will also be a good practice for my new comic, starring the character you'll get to know pretty well this month. I'd like to believe I'm stepping up my game in relation to last year's challenge. As usual, I'm going to post here weekly (you can follow my daily posts on my IG account, FB page or dA account). These are my drawings from the third week (Day 9 - Day 15).

DAY 9: SCREECH

"Honestly, what does the owl say?
Does it only hoot in the dark?
Or does it make even more sounds
Like chirp, whistle, screech, shriek or bark?"

DAY 10: GIGANTIC

"Sick and tired of feeling small?
Oh, what if you could have a pill
To make your ego gigantic,
Feel more important, feel the thrill?"

DAY 11: RUN

"You can run, run, run in circles,
Run up or run down, fall or climb,
Run like the wind, run a red light,
Just run, run, till you're out of time."

DAY 12: SHATTERED

"Growing up you have to accept
That often nothing's what it seems,
And sometimes there is no way out,
But living with your shattered dreams."

DAY 13: TEEMING

"So many different faces,
Some can be seen, some stay behind,
Fighting to prevail day by day,
Constantly teeming in my mind."

DAY 14: FIERCE

"Many people seem to be calm,
Keeping themselves from exploding,
Suddenly they can become fierce -
Just like the wolves in sheep's clothing!"

DAY 15: MYSTERIOUS

"Be mysterious just a bit
And beware not to lose your touch,
'Cause some mystery can be fine,
But how much is really too much?"

Paper napkin flower

A pretty simple project to distract myself a little bit from the Inktober challenge. It's a birthday present, a paper napkin flower, which can also be a hair pin.

Inktober 2017, Week 1

This year I'm using the official prompt list again (it was made by @jakeparker, who started this Inktober challenge a few years ago), but this time I'm interpreting it through the eyes of one of my newly created characters and accompanied by a short poem. This will also be a good practice for my new comic, starring the character you'll get to know pretty well this month. I'd like to believe I'm stepping up my game in relation to last year's challenge. As usual, I'm going to post here weekly (you can follow my daily posts on my IG account, FB page or dA account). These are my drawings from the first week (Day 1 - Day 8).

DAY 1: SWIFT

"Oh, how swiftly the seasons pass,
Spring makes you feel over the moon,
Summer just seems to fly away,
Fall and winter come way too soon!"

DAY 2: DIVIDED

"You're so close, yet so far away,
I lost you somewhere down the line,
Distant, divided and apart,
My dear shadow, are you still mine?"

DAY 3: POISON

"Rude comments, bad news all around...
Why do I read them? Who needs those?
But each day I'm drawn to this flame -
That's my poison, my daily dose!"

DAY 4: UNDERWATER

"What is hidden? What lies beneath?
What's underwater? Can you see?
There's always something out of sight,
You never know what it can be."

DAY 5: LONG

"It's been a long road to get here,
But I still don't know what it means,
Drawing and doodling my whole life,
And still feeling stuck in my teens."

DAY 6: SWORD

"They say there's nothing you can't do -
Go for it, don't just stand and moan,
But some things stay beyond your reach,
Stuck like the sword in the stone."

DAY 7: SHY

"It's hard to explain what it's like
Being shy almost all the time,
While other people play it cool,
You feel like you commit a crime."

DAY 8: CROOKED

"She was the cutest girl ever,
She had a little crooked smile,
And she was mine, but now she's gone -
Some stories last just for a while."

Punk Girl

Here's my entry for the monthly Character Design Challenge (the theme was PUNKS). I found this Facebook page and became the member of the group literally on the last day of September, so I had to rush with my drawing, but I guess it turned out OK. I admit there are things I wish I had done differently, but all in all I'm satisfied with this version.
